Reading Project

FS2 are really fortunate to be involved in a Reading Project with staff from Howards Group.  Fortnightly, on a Friday afternoon staff members kindly give their time to come into school and read stories to small groups of children.  The boys and girls really enjoy the visits and count down the days until the next one!  As well as listening to stories the children love the opportunity to share news with their adult and catch up with things that have happened since the last session.

Everyone in FS2 appreciates the efforts of the Howards staff in making the project such a success.  During the past academic year they also paid a special visit to the class at Easter and kindly gave each child a chocolate egg along with accompanying FS2 on a trip to the Weston Wheel in June.  The adults and children alike enjoyed a lovely tea party together in July to celebrate the project.  The class carefully planned the event in conjunction with Miss Jones and a great time was had by all – even the weather behaved! We look forward to watching the Reading Project further develop and flourish during 2010-2011.  Many thanks to the Howards staff for their enthusiasm and willing attitudes in enabling it to happen!

I was a bit shy when he [Mike] came in. I Mike because he's a bit funny!

Laura's always nice. The stories are really good.
