As a Voluntary Aided Church of England school the school’s governing body has a fixed number of members nominated by the Anglican Church. The Church of England, through the Diocese of Bath and Wells, takes a particular interest in the welfare of Voluntary Aided schools.

Acts of Worship are of a Christian character, and are held on a daily basis. A member of
Religious Education is provided for all pupils as part of the curriculum, and is in accordance with the Diocesan syllabus. If parents wish their children to be excluded from either assemblies or Religious Education a written request is necessary.
We have agreed (June 2015) to work in close collaboration with 3 other local primary schools: Ashcombe Primary School, Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School and Hutton Church of England Primary School - and we have signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding' to support this. We have already been holding pupil sporting events, joint staff network meetings and leadership / governor meetings over the last 18 months.
In 2015/16 we will be increasing our close working partnership to give pupils even more opportunities to share work and experiences between the schools. We will be extending our staff networks and partnerships and have formed an INSPIRE Trust board of Chairs of Governors and Head Teachers to oversee the partnership.

Sarah Quick – Manager
In a recent Ofsted report the pre-school was judged as ‘OUTSTANDING’ in every aspect of learning and care, one of only 2% in the country and the first in Weston-s-Mare.
The main aim of the Pre-school is to provide learning through play within the framework of the Early Learning goals – Communication, Language and Literacy, Mathematics, Personal, Knowledge and understanding of the world, Physical and Creative - and we complete a profile on your child while they are with us which is yours to keep when they leave.
We have a large purpose room with its own cloakroom, toilets, kitchen and all year round outdoor play area. We provide a wide range of equipment for the children to enjoy and also arrange visits to local places for interest including the fire station, library and museum.
We operate a Keyworker system and your child will be allocated a member of staff when they start to help them settle and look after your child.
To arrange a visit at any time please phone Sarah on the above numbers.
